About the Position: This position is located at Directorate Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security (DPTMS), Plans and Operations Division, Fort Cavazos, Texas.

Duties

Responsible for accomplishing analytical work in connection with the preparation and issuance of tasking instructions for the use of temporary military manpower to support contingency operations within and outside continental United State (CONUS). Assess U.S. Army Garrison (USAG) strengths by Military Occupational Specialty (MOS), specialties/special identifiers, determines which Directorate to task based on Enlisted/Officer Distribution Plan compared to projected strength and equitability. Brief supervisors of unresolved issues and provide recommendations for execution. Provide tasking source with specific information from the installation relative to the soldiers filling the tasking.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes issuing tasking instructions that provide direct support for exercises, training operations and/or special events; and verifying temporary manpower utilization requests for contingency operations and/or military exercises. OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management, Business or Business Administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
