About the Position: This position is located at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia. Working for the Director of Resource Management third party collections. Applicant is expected to have working knowledge of medical billing and Uniform Business Office operations.

Duties
Perform technical work in support of the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit and custody of cash items which includes handling cash items or use of cash accountability control methods.
Assist with or conducts training on program requirements.
Apply practices to resolve a variety of problems related to accounting, budget or financial management.
Extract data from records to prepare reports.
Track budgetary transactions.
Determine pay, payroll records maintenance and completion of reports.
Perform technician work in support of budget analysis and administration such as maintain ledgers, budget formulation, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data.
Apply account maintenance and accounting support work requiring a basic understanding of accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
Review and maintain complex accounting, budget or other fiscal transactions.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination. A candidate selected to this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to annual seasonal influenza vaccination.
- This is a Financial Management Level I position. The incumbent must complete training and meet position requirements for certification at Level 1 within 2 years of appointment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes support in the handling of cash items, determining payroll, and maintaining pay accounts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
