This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Strategic Operations and Regulatory Affairs, Office of Strategic
Operations and Regulatory Affairs (OSORA), Program Coordination and Correspondence Group (PCCG).
As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-15, you will serve as the director, overseeing staff responsible for planning and coordinating health care coverage policies.
Duties
Provide leadership and technical assistance in business processes, re- engineering, and change management.
Ensure that the Division's work supports CMS' and HHS' strategic plans, mission, vision, and values.
Coordinate all facets of the Division's work by mobilizing a team of multi- disciplinary professionals, mostly at the GS-13 or GS-14 level, in serving as the primary CMS liaison with the Executive Secretariat in OS.
Ensure the principles of quality management are assimilated into the Division's work by analyzing and identifying work barriers and developing ways to reduce them.
Serve as a technical expert and resource to CMS leadership at the Group, Center, and Agency levels, as well as other internal and external stakeholders.

In order to qualify for the GS-15, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
Advising senior leadership officials on emerging Agency-wide policy priorities or program initiatives;
Mediating conflicts across diverse teams or competing interests;
Producing work products for senior government officials (e.g., briefing, documents or memos, correspondence, etc.) that are clear, error free, and objective; AND
Overseeing work activities of subordinate employees (e.g., managing workloads, setting deadlines, and performance planning, etc.).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current or former Federal employees and current or former Federal employees applying under the VEOA eligibility who hold or have held a permanent General Schedule position in the previous year must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
