This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in Transmission (T), Engineering and Technical Services (TE), Technical Services (TEZ), Assets Reliability, Performance & Maintenance (TEZM).
A successful candidate in the Substation Maintenance Craft Specialist position will serve as a SME to the BPA organization on substation maintenance issues such as safety, emergency replacement response, work practices, equipment maintenance and performance.
Duties
As a Substation Maintenance Craft Specialist, you will:
Provides high level craft technical expertise to the Regions and Engineering and Technical Services in the area of Substation Maintenance.
Serves as the SME to the BPA organization on substation maintenance issues such as safety, emergency replacement response, work practices, equipment maintenance and performance.
Serves as a proactive advocate for craft positional and occupational needs, including training and all technical issues related to tools, equipment, instruments, and material.
Requirements

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Directing Substation Maintenance Foremen and crews in the maintenance and outage restorations and developing substation maintenance training material.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
