This position is located at Boston National Historical Park, in the Office of the Superintendent.

Duties
Prepare news releases, media advisories, briefings, fact sheets, and other communications using graphics and techniques appropriate for the audience, message and medium.
Serve as the park's primary communications liaison with diverse partners to coordinate and execute messaging campaigns that support park and partnership goals and initiatives.
Write memos and briefings to keep internal audiences informed of park activities, including events likely to generate significant public, media and/or Congressional attention.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with news and media professionals in a competitive urban environment to achieve the organization's strategic communication and brand visibilty goals.
Provide leadership and direction to an interdisciplinary team responsible for achieving strategic communication goals through digital media.
Qualifications

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.
To qualify for this position at the GS-12 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: 1) Direct a comprehensive communications and public affairs program, including independently developing communication materials in various mediums including digital, written, and oral formats. 2) Oversee development and execution of digital media strategy, including posting information on social media sites regarding Park activities, maintaining connections with travel/tourism representatives to promote the Park, and coordinating all associated press and public messages related to special events, celebrations, dedications, etc.3) Utilize various digital applications to prepare and disseminate internal publications to keep all park personnel informed of available/new park programs, community activities, and employee messages from the park Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent. 4) Represent the park at community meetings and events, making presentations and addressing concerns as appropriate, utilizing analytical techniques in gathering, analyzing, and evaluating complex data or information to answer complex technical questions from public or private inquiries to the park. You must include hours per week worked.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
