You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Information Management and Technology Directorate (M6) of NAVMEDFORSUPCMD FT SAM.

Duties

You will provide program oversight of high visibility matters for measuring, analyzing, improving, and implementing measures to enable the success of the Command’s mission in compliance with overarching security regulations. You will organize work, set priorities, and determine resource requirements; determine goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinate with other organizations; monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes. You will plan and coordinate external inspections, investigations, and inquiries, providing input to the Organizational Inspection Program. You will develop, implement and monitor policies, instructions, procedures, control systems, and methods regarding the classification, declassification, and protection of classified national defense information originated or controlled. You will utilize databases to track, and validate personnel security clearance eligibility; determines status of security investigations; communicates with operating officials on matters of suspensions and/or removal of personnel security clearances. You will manage OPSEC awareness and education training and ensure that assigned personnel are familiar with the significant contribution of the OPSEC process to overall mission effectiveness.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience executing and enforcing all operational, functional, and mission assurance aspects of monitoring personnel and information security systems and programs. Experience developing detailed policies, guidance, programs and standard operating procedures in accordance with applicable regulations for operational security, industrial security, personnel security and information security. Experience performing periodic reviews and security inspections of subordinate commands. Experience identifying and monitoring sensitive activity security risks, report actual or possible security infractions or violations, and provide corrective action as required. Experience preparing, recommending, and supervising execution of the OPSEC program using analytical processes to develop long-range program plans, goals, objectives, and milestones. Experience reviewing personnel investigations for providing recommendations on pre-employment and continued employment considerations, issuance of security clearances, or placement of personnel in sensitive positions.
