You will serve as a Training Instructor in the Crane and Rigging Operations Division (Code 220), Waterfront Support Division (Code 200), Trident Refit Facility (TRIFEFFAC), of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Duties
You will be responsible for developing training and assessment programs related strategies, plans, or policies to successfully execute training programs.
You will be responsible for assessing the effectiveness of existing training programs and recommend strategies to enhance training operational readiness.
You will be responsible for administering regular and supplemental examinations or tests to determine student progress.
You will be responsible for researching and updating course content to accommodate changes and evolving work.
You will be responsible for delivering educational and informational briefs in both formal and informal settings.
You will be responsible for making presentations in formal or informal training classrooms.
You will be responsible for initiating, developing, and presenting requested courses to TRIREFFAC production personnel and customers, including apprentices, supervisors, managers, trade persons, engineers, and technicians.

- This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience preparing lesson plans and/or training materials based on course objectives.
Experience in crane maintenance procedures, principles and theory to ensure training quality and effectiveness.
Experience in the general, electrical, mechanical and/or hazards safety associated with corrosion control and painting.
Experience independently developing, revising, and/or adapts training methods for crane and weight handling equipment.
Experience assessing student progress to ensure learning objectives are met and/or providing guidance to improve student performance.
Experience preparing lesson plans and training material based on course objectives using software programs (e.g. Microsoft word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat (Professional)).
Experience systematically integrating work requirements into training to provide a conceptual knowledge of skills.
Experience utilizing a wide range of training methods, techniques and/or tools to develop, present and maintain courses objectives.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
- Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

- Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.

OR
- A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
