You will serve as a TRAINING INSTRUCTOR in the HULL DIVISION (TRF-310), REPAIR DEPARTMENT (TRF-300) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.

Duties

You will develop, revise, and adapt assigned courses with an emphasis on the structural trades. You will prepare lesson plans, student handouts, quizzes, and other training materials, based upon course objectives. You will evaluate instructional approaches, develop student evaluation criteria and evaluate performance training. You will maintain training records and develop training reports.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Initiating, developing and presenting requested courses to TRIDENT Refit Facility personnel. Develop, revise and adapt assigned courses with an emphasis on Structural trades. Prepares lesson plans, student handouts, quizzes and other training materials based on course objectives. Determine instructional methods and approaches, obtain necessary training aids, and determine time schedules and sequence of instruction for the class. Conduct the training and assess the progress of studies in meeting the desired objectives, inclusive of advising and assisting students to improve their performance. Motivate students to achieve the learning objectives. Maintain training records and develop training reports. Effectively instruct others in the subject matter being taught. Incorporate the latest requirements and technology into training materials to ensure state-of-the-art training. Prepare and teach trade theories courses. Integrate systematic work requirements into the training to provide a conceptual knowledge of the skills. Design and develop the course content, training aids, instructional approach, training devices and evaluation tools for the class being taught. Teach various courses such as submarine structural components, safety requirements for PPE, use of technical manuals and instructions, and other courses required for personnel. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related


Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.
