You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the FLEET WEATHER CENTER of NAVAVNFCSTCEN.
Duties
You will conduct monthly and annual SCIF security inspections.
You will coordinate with the Activity Security Manager and Command Duty Officer to ensure the Intrusion Detection System and the Electronic Access Control System as well as any associated alarms are in proper working.
You will provide overall security support to the command’s Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
You will be responsible for maintaining all associated documentation and drawings to maintain the SCIF Accreditation and Tempest Approvals from the Regional Special Security Office and Special Security Office Navy.
You will conduct periodic inspections of the areas within and surrounding the SCIF including under false floors and above false ceilings to detect unauthorized penetrations or modifications to the physical boundaries.
You will review, edit and submit the security portion of contract proposals through the Department of the Navy (DON) Intelligence Related Contract Coordination Office (IRCCO), Special Security Officer Navy, and the Contract Management Office.
You will plan, recommend the installation of, periodically test, and perform routine maintenance on multi-layered security systems incorporating personnel access controls and physical detection devices such as intrusion detection systems (IDS).
You will oversee and maintain all internal associated equipment.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Security Profession Certification within one (1) year of employment.
Qualifications
To qualify for the Security Specialist, GS - 0080 - 11 position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year (52 WEEKS) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS - 09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience with Intelligence Community Directives (ICD 705, ICD-705-1, ICD 704) as they relate to maintaining and operating a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility.
Experience with Marking and Handling of Classified Information and have thorough knowledge storage and destruction procedures for TS/SCI Information.
Experience conducting In Briefings and appropriate Defense Information Security System entries for the proper recording of In Briefings/Debriefings and submission of Visit Requests.
Experience with the NP2 Portal and Electronic Questionnaire Information Program and Mirador submission of clearance eligibilities by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency Central Adjudication System.
To qualify for the Security Specialist, GS - 0080 - 09 position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year (52 WEEKS) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS - 07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience assisting with the maintenance and operation of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities in accordance with Intelligence Community Directives.
Experience following procedures for TS/SCI information to mark, store, destroy or otherwise handle classified information.
Experience utilizing the NP2 Portal and Electronic Questionnaire Information Program and Mirador submission of clearance eligibilities by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency Central Adjudication System.
Experience briefing, debriefing, and providing training to personnel on SCI/SCIF programs and procedures.
Experience ensuring all records and files are current and maintained in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, Executive Orders (E.O.) and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs).

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree

GS - 09
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
