This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of Communications (OCOM), Executive Secretariat (ExecSec). This position is responsible for reviewing correspondence packages to ensure they are complete and accurate; this includes sensitive and confidential communication prepared by or for the President and Attorney General.
Duties
Evaluates the content, format and organization of responses to incoming correspondence and documents.
Receives and analyzes correspondence based on substantive knowledge of Agency's mission and programs and assigns the correspondence to appropriate office for response or personally prepares responses.
Writes and edits information on Agency topics, procedures and functions to be presented to audiences such as congressional representatives, national and local leaders and the general public.
Prepares written products that are characterized by substantial breadth and depth and covering many differing issues.
Ensures the development, establishment, maintenance and monitoring of effective systems of administrative control for safeguarding records.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Examples of specialized experience include:
Wrote and edited information on Agency topics, procedures, and functions to be presented to audiences such as congressional representatives, national and local leaders and the general public.
Provided an analysis of correspondence responses to gain uniformity, clarity, economy of expression and logical presentation of information.
Adhered to disposition plans and records retention schedules for paper and electronic records.
