You will serve as an Assistant Program Manager (APM) in the Undersea Defensive Warfare Program Office of PEO UNDERSEA WARFARE SYSTEMS. You will be supporting the design, engineering, production, testing, modernization, and life cycle management and in service support of countermeasures for all Navy platforms and capabilities to detect, classify, and localize incoming torpedo threats, and layered torpedo defeat hard kill and soft kill solutions.
Duties
You will serve as a management advisor using a high-level of discernment and judgment to address a wide variety of interrelated subject matter, that can include financial, contractual, programmatic, or other program office focus areas,
You will provide a wide range of substantive oral and written presentations and report to internal and external stakeholders.
You will develop and implement overall program requirements based on new or revised legislation.
You will analyze and evaluate effectiveness of program requirements throughout the life-cycle.
You will make determinations on resources to accomplish program objectives and apply technical expertise to various levels of operations.
You develop and implement improvement and efficiency strategies for programming, budgeting and procurement based on findings from key program specialists and analyst.
You will lead efforts for these studies and analysis.
You will identify and facilitate potential solutions and evaluates technical, cost, and schedule implications of each viable solution.
You will direct and evaluate complex studies and develop new methods and procedures to measure program results, and effectiveness.
You will review and prepare program documentation to determine appropriate changes or corrective actions.
You will perform program reviews and recommend improvements to production and programmatic deficiencies.
You will develop innovative solutions to complex technical and programmatic issues and to present alternative approaches that can be balanced against cost and schedule constraints to meet overall program goals.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-03 (GS-13 Equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector reviewing program requirements (e.g. contracting, resource allocation, procurement, strategic planning, risk assessments, project planning and scheduling, workforce performance, budget planning, development and execution, or financial management) to develop recommendations, strategies, or methods at meeting project schedules or objectives for the design, development construction, modernization, or maintenance of submarine systems, subsystems, or components.
