You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
Duties
You will plan, schedule, assign, and review job summaries and/or estimates to assure the work is complete and accurate.
You will provide administrative and technical supervision to an assigned subordinate group of approximately 6 - 8 Planner and Estimators, GS-12 Nuclear Engineers and GS-12 Engineering Technicians.
You will review job orders, material lists, estimate sheets, etc. to ensure compliance with current directives and procedures.
You will determine the developmental training needs of subordinates.
You will consult with training organizations to determines the means by which training will be accomplish.
You will approve sick and annual leave requests and recommend the approval/disapproval of Leave Without pay and requests for advanced sick leave.
You will resolve conflicts and overlapping functions between subordinates in the interest of achieving overall objectives.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing administrative and technical leadership to the preparation of work/job orders for engineering projects in support of ship repair operations that include the development of estimates, budgets, and project schedules using planning tools (e.g. Management Information Systems (MIS) and Advanced Industrial Management (AIM)).
