About the Position: The mission of the DHA is to serve as a Combat Support Agency (CSA) and lead the MHS integration of readiness and health to deliver the Quadruple Aim: improved readiness, better health, better care, and lower cost. This position is located within the Operations (J-3) and Plans (J-33) branch within the Defense Health Agency, in Falls Church, Virginia.

Duties
Lead operational planning groups/teams (OPTs) in the development and maintenance of internal operational support plans and ensures preparation for, and
execution of, the Agency’s combat support mission.
Review and analyze the CCMD Concept Plans.
Plan strategies and conducts comprehensive technical and analytical studies which include the formulation and analytical assessment on the development of operational medical capability needs.
Consider overall operational missions, performance requirements, planning, research and development initiatives, program and budget implications and OSD, Joint Staff, and Congressional actions.
Ensure new joint medical planning tool requirements are prioritized based on the needs of CCMD and Service planners.
Assist the CCMD medical planners with using the joint medical planning tools to conduct course of action and risk analysis.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access. A pre-employment and recurring comprehensive background investigations are required.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing briefings for presentation to senior leadership, conducting analytical comprehensive studies of the operational medical capability needs, and developing new operational plans based on results of past analytical studies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
