About the Position: This position is in the Travis Air Force Base Dir of Admin, TRICARE Operations. The David Grant USAF Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California, is the United States Air Force's largest medical center in the continental United States and serves military beneficiaries throughout eight western states.

Duties

Provides detailed advice on the many benefits covered by the organization information concerning services which are excluded by the program. Provides specific advice on all eligibility requirements, exclusions of certain diseases or conditions, coverage of medical conditions, out-of-pocket cost, coordination of benefits, and any applicable program rules. Explains the full range of available benefits and entitlements as well as eligibility requirements, options, limitations, and relationship to the Defense Eligibility Enrollment Reporting System (DEERS). Resolves complaints of nonpayment or incorrect payment by TRICARE fiscal intermediary to beneficiaries and civilian health care providers. Provides advisory services on benefits offered through the TRICARE program. Troubleshoots and resolves problems for TRICARE beneficiaries and providers. Provides information and assistance concerning both inpatient and outpatient medical care under the Uniformed Services Health Benefits Program (USHBP) and medical care from civilian sources under the TRICARE program.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • Incumbent may be required to travel up to 25% for official business.
  • The employee required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
