Duties

Coordinate administrative activities within the clinic as directed by Group Practice Manager. Identify the need for analyses, reports, and statistical data. Establish operating policies to implement administrative management and personnel matters. Ensure validity of commitments and obligations, using substantial judgment in solving unusual problems. Develop the clinics budget for upcoming fiscal years as directed by Group Practice Manager. Review manpower records and charts maintained within the parent MTF for proper maintenance.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
• This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of occasional travel of the time.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing administrative activities within a medical facility to identify trends with health systems processes; assisting in the development of facility procedures to increase efficiency; assisting in the workload distribution among subordinate employees; and preparing budgetary reports to ensure facility's fiscal compliance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph. D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as:hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
