This position is located at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Economic Research Service (ERS), Office of the Administrator (OA) in Washington DC.
In this position, you will analyze, review, and ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of Office of the Administrator (OA) administrative support activities.
Duties
Assists in reviewing and monitoring a variety of current or administrative clerical programs to determine effectiveness and efficiency in achieving objectives.
Conducts studies in support of Agency clerical and administrative initiatives.
Analyzes management information requirements to develop, identify and resolve various problems and situations that affect the orderly and efficient flow of work.
Assists with the scheduling and coordination of briefings and OA meetings.
Serves as the liaison between executives and officials within OA, Congressional and legislative representatives and their staffs, White House officials, and public and private industry groups.
Tracks agency reports and journal articles including identifying trends, frequency, and other data.
Prepares briefings, handbooks, reports, slides, forms, and correspondence for OA to use as background information for meetings and to manage the overall efficiency of the Agency.
Requirements

GS-09
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-09 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-07 which is related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience planning departmental programs; preparing reports or administrative documents (such as for travel, budget, or procurement of supplies and equipment; and assisting with implementing or reviewing policies, regulations, or procedures.
OR
Education: Two full years of graduate-level education or a Master's degree, if directly related to the position. Related degrees may include Program Management, Communication, Public Administration, Economics, Human Resources Management, Organizational Management, or Business Administration.
OR
A combination of graduate education and specialized experience as described above.
GS-11
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-11 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-09 which is related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience preparing guidance for program requirements; developing or implementing policies, regulations, or procedures; and researching and coordinating executive-level travel, major events, and social activities.
OR
Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. Related degrees may include Program Management, Communication, Public Administration, Economics, Human Resources Management, Organizational Management, or Business Administration.
OR
A combination of graduate education and specialized experience as described above.
GS-12
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-12 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-11 which is related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience serving as an advisor for meetings or strategic planning events; developing or implementing policies, regulations, or procedures; and researching and coordinating executive-level travel, major events, and social activities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
