About the Position: Efforts are focused on development of management data for effective operation of assigned Business Unit, resolving and negotiating technical and administrative problems, and developing/presenting proposals for new work, referring any problems involving policy or major change in program direction to the Division Chief.

Duties

Conducts manufacturing studies, leads pre-production meetings and coordinates with groups of highly technical employees, including potential suppliers, design engineers, and others. Responsible for the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of assigned projects and programs. Utilize Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) to execute funding assigned to the organization. Allocates and manages resources, including facilities, required to complete production requirements. Attend and brief in meetings, representing the team, division, or directorate to the command group, providing courses of action, updates, or issues of assigned projects. Identifies actual or potential problem areas, trends, significant accomplishments, deficiencies, and areas of imbalance. Writes Statements of Work and establishes procurement packages for major support contracts. Explores innovative contract methods for the procurement of technical services for production support.

Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: (1) Developing the criteria for procurement ready packages; AND (2) Managing programs from preproduction to project close outs to maintain effective workflow; AND (3) Monitoring the operations of programs or projects utilizing systems such as Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) and Complex Assembly Manufacturing (CAMS). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Contracting/ProcurementFinancial AnalysisPlanning and EvaluatingProblem Solving Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
