About the Position: Serves as the Army's subject matter expert, technical authority, and advisor to ATSC, CAC-T, other TRADOC staff elements, Army
Commands (ACOMs), and HQDA on Training Aids, Devices, Simulations, and Simulators (TADSS) requirements determination and policy.
This position is eligible for regular and recurring telework - as determined by the agency policy.
Duties
Serves as the Army's subject matter expert, technical authority, and advisor to ATSC, CAC-T, other TRADOC staff elements,
Army Commands (ACOMs), and HQDA on Training Aids, Devices, Simulations, and Simulators (TADSS) requirements determination and policy.
Exercises comprehensive practical knowledge of complex management processes and techniques, DoD, HQDA, and TRADOC TADSS policies and philosophies,
evolving/changing programming needs, and thorough knowledge of DoD and Army combat development programs.
Serves as a member of the Command's Unit Set Fielding (USF) assessment Team and participates in the conduct of on-site TSS assessments to define site-specific TSS requirements.
Advises and assists the System Training Integration and Devices Directorate (STIDD).
Advises various agencies on the interrelationships between TADSS and Army training.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- SECRET CLEARANCE: This position may require the incumbent to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Providing technical guidance and advice on complex management processes and techniques to include: Training Aids, Devices, Simulations, and Simulators (TADSS) policies, evolving programming needs for Training Support Systems (TSS), and combat development programs ; and 2) Assist in developing, reviewing, and synchronizing regulatory guidance/policy on the requirements determination and acquisition process for system and nonsystem TADSS to include: Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution System (PPBES) and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) processes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
