You will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist (Aircraft) in the Maintenance and Contract Management Detachment of NATC MILTON.
Duties
You will be responsible for developing, administering, evaluating, and coordinating comprehensive aircraft maintenance government quality assurance programs for Training Air Wing FIVE (TW5).
You will ensure that contractor maintenance, overhaul, and modification of products meet contractual requirements for quality.
You will Monitor, evaluate, and provide guidance and recommendations for contractor production challenges and shortfalls.
You will oversee the processes and procedures necessary for ensuring safe, secure, contract compliant maintenance, and logistics support is conducted on a daily basis.
You will review contractor quality control plans, procedures, and practices in accordance with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9100 precepts, and contract specific directives to assure adequacy.
You will identify, analyze, and provides solutions pertaining to acquisitions and maintenance quality assurance for all aircraft systems and aircraft training systems/instruction at TW5.
You will investigate and develop comprehensive documentation for defects or non-conformance with contractual requirements in preparation for requesting contractor corrective actions.
You will brief leadership on documentation and presents it to Higher Headquarters for Corrective Action Boards.
This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Engineering and Technical Managment Level Foundational. Certification is required within 36 months of appointment.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field XXXX Level XX. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS 09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing quality assurance support for aircraft maintenance contracts to ensure safety standards and regulatory policy compliance.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
