You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (AIRCRAFT) in the Maintenance and Contract Management Detachment, Quality Assurance Department of NATC MILTON.

Duties

You will develop, administer, evaluate, and coordinate comprehensive aircraft maintenance government quality assurance programs. You will identify, analyze, and provide solutions pertaining to acquisitions and maintenance quality assurance for all aircraft systems and aircraft training systems. You will ensure all program requirements are met, including all inspection and reporting requirements. You will review the accuracy of all aircraft maintenance administration documentation to include logs and records in a quality assurance database. You will develop and conduct various quality assurance training events with emphasis on work procedures and techniques appropriate to the work environment. You will develop local operating procedures based on applicable, regulations, and manuals to fit situations in maintenance and quality assurance. You will serve as a technical advisor on the principles and techniques of maintenance quality assurance. You will serve as a liaison for issues pertaining to quality assurance between the Training Air Wing, base, and contractor.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting aircraft quality assurance audits and inspection processes to identify deficiencies and recommend improvements by analyzing and evaluating aircraft maintenance quality assurance programs (e.g., COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790, DCMAINST 8210/NAVAIRINST 3710, International Organization for Standards) to ensure aircraft maintenance, overhaul and modifications meets requirements. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position.
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position.
OR
