Duties
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, National Offshore Training Center, Gulf of Mexico OCS Region in Jefferson, Louisiana.
At the full performance level (GS-6) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Receives, reads, and controls all incoming correspondence, reports, instructions.
Reviews all correspondence, draft policies, and other written documents to ensure documents are in compliance with policies and procedures.
Prepare, organizes, and maintains all training course records in accordance with the law and policy.
Maintains proper time and attendance records and documentation.
Makes all necessary arrangements office travel, arranging schedules, making lodging and transportation reservations, submitting travel authorizations and vouchers.
Assist in all phases of employee onboarding and exit clearance.
Provides logistical support for classroom rental, course material, and training supplies.
The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
This position is included in a bargaining unit. The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), Local 3457, is the exclusive representative of all employees in this bargaining unit.
Salary Information
GS-6: $44,117 - $57,354 per annum
First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.
This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.
This vacancy is also announced as BSEE-EENN-24-AW-24-241(MP) for those applicants who wish to apply and be considered under Merit Promotion procedures.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series/grade to which you are applying.
Specialized Experience:
To qualify for the GS-6, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1) Utilizing proficiency in MS Office products (i.e. Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.); 2) Proof-reading documents and providing recommendations for modifications; and 3) Organizing and prioritizing task scheduling.
MUST MEET ALL.
Typing Proficiency: In addition to meeting the qualification requirements for the grade level above, ALL applicants must show possession of 40 words per minute typing speed.
