You will serve as a Heating Equipment Repairer in the Production Division, Public Works Department Earle of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will install, adjust, repair and replace components, control devices, and units. You will determine the condition of system parts and components to make repairs or replacements. You will install, align, adjust, balance, and test system components and equipment. You will perform routine maintenance on small electric motors, feed pumps, and valves, including replacing brushes, seals, and bearings, and repacking valves.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require occasional travel from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current CPR certification.
  • You may at any time be assigned to a similar position at any site or workstation within the commuting area.
  • You may be required to serve as an on-call duty mechanic on a rotation basis (required to carry a duty cell phone and pager and must remain available to respond on site to after-hour emergencies within two hours).
  • You may be designated as ALPHA/Essential personnel and required to report for duty or held in duty status to provide support before, during and/or after special emergency situations.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
