About the Position: The U.S. Army Natick Soldier Systems Center (NSSC) is the Army's one-stop Soldier-support organization. NSSC is responsible for researching, developing, fielding and managing food, clothing, shelters, airdrop systems and Soldier support items.

Duties

You will conduct comprehensive physical security surveys, inspections, and evaluations to advise managers on controlling and safe guarding information, materials, and assets. Areas of responsibility include: automated data, processing facilities, safes, vault areas, restricted areas, barriers, security guard forces, and a myriad of physical security equipment. Analyze physical security systems and procedures in an administrative, technical, and scientific organization/facility which has/needs protective systems. Interpret findings and impact of surveys and inspections. Adapt and modifies security procedures, measures, and systems to complement changes due to technological advances as well as mission changes and relocation of elements serviced. Conduct entrance and exit conferences with commanders and top officials to discuss basis and extent of surveys, inspections, findings, deficiencies, corrective measures, and other recommendations and observations. Recommend physical security measures to protect arms, ammunition, and other Army assets against misuse, loss, or theft. Conduct physical security inspections and anti-terrorism assessments of construction proposals. Reviews contract proposals for construction and modification to buildings to ensure that adequate and appropriate security safeguards are included in plans and specifications.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 30 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position requires previous completion of formal training at the U.S. Army Military Police School Conventional Physical Security/Crime Prevention Course in accordance with Army Regulation 190-13.
