Duties

Determine the correct repair method for different types of metals such as brazing, soldering and welding. Utilize specification guideline such as Technical Manuals, directives, etc. to ensure safety regulation are followed. Install all metal roofing, siding, and flashing with screws or bolts to ensure installed items are secured. Operate welding equipment such as wire and oxygen acetylene welders to reshape, replace, or repair items being worked. Responsible for testing all items such as tools, materials, and equipment before releasing.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment physical examination and an annual examination thereafter.
• This position requires heavy lifting up to 60 lbs.
• This position is subject to Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel up to 10%, and may be subject to (TDY) on short notice CONUS.
• Temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years.
• Time Limited Detail NTE may be made or extended at management discretion.
• Temporary reassignment may be made or extended at management discretion.
• Position may be converted to permanent without further competition if an authorized space becomes available.
• The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Government Driver's License.
