Duties
You will research, evaluate, design, develop, calibrate, and/or support the life cycle of new and existing Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) Systems.
You will research and evaluate the electronic, electro-optical, and electro-mechanical technologies and design aspects of weapon systems to determine proper strategies and techniques for automated testing and fault isolation.
You will conduct research and evaluation of the computer programs and software (e.g. instrument databases, instrument device drivers, test executives, ATLAS compilers, etc.) required for ATE Systems.
You will conduct research and evaluate the hardware element (e.g. signal generators, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, frequency-time interval meters, etc.) required for ATE Systems.
You will Interpret test results and select or recommend an approach appropriate to the solution of ATE design problems.
You will conduct in-process and final testing to ensure that functional and performance objectives are obtained.
You will determine that technical aspects of approach of assigned ATI segment does not conflict with basic electronic principals.
You will assure that the design of assigned ATE segment is not incompatible with other hardware and software segments of the ATI system.
You will design test setups and experiments to evaluate previously untried and untested measurement techniques or procedures.
You will develop new methods of packaging ATE systems to meet Marine Corps operational, environmental, and transportability requirements.
You will modify the interface between ATE system elements to provide the required accuracy, signal fidelity, and repatability at the ATE system measurement plane.
You will modify the electronic, electrical and mechanical components which are required to control/compensate for ATE system operational problems.
You will develop and write the technical portion of ATE system/segment specifications; fabrication and procurement specifications; statements of work; system design documents; evaluation checklists; test and plans procedures, etc.
You will prepare reports for formal technical investigations of developmental ATE problems/anomalies and may include writing technical papers for publication.
You will develop training material and providing training and technical support to those engaged in ATE operation, maintenance or TPS Development.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Some walking, bending and lifting of objects and equipment up to 50 lbs is required.
- This position requires a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for this position. I am willing and able to submit to a SCHR check.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing and supporting Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) Systems which diagnose faults and verify readiness of weapon/communication systems, subsystems, and its components; AND researching, evaluating, designing, developing, calibrating, and/or supporting the life cycle of new and existing ATE systems.
