Duties
You will be responsible for programming, writing, debugging and maintaining code.
You will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
You will analyze the functional and technical requirements of proposed or existing IT systems to determine avenues of development or modification necessary to meet mission objectives.
You will participate in systems requirement reviews and coordinate with subject matter experts or functional personnel to clarify requests
You will prepare programming specifications and specifies programming instructions, inputs and outputs, structures, and other analytical products.
You will identify alternative technical approaches to the design of current or proposed systems.
You will prioritize proposed system changes, establish completion dates and participate in critical design and test readiness reviews .

Qualifications
GS-09: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in all facets of software development lifecycle (SDLC) design, programming and testing; AND experience with programming language JAVA and/or Software audit/security..
GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Demonstrated understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) design, programming and testing; AND basic understanding of programming language JAVA and/or software audit/security. .

1 full year of graduate level education
OR
superior academic achievement
GS-09:
master's degree or equivalent graduate degree
