Joining the Secret Service, Office of the Chief Information Officer, IT Program Management Program, will allow you to assist in securing, developing, implementing, and sustaining information technology to support the U.S. Secret Service enterprise and its Protective and Investigative missions.
Duties
The selectee will serve as a Management and Program Analyst (Acquisition)in the Office of the Chief Information Officer, IT Program Management Program. Typical work assignments include:
Supporting the implementation of Information Technology (IT) acquisition policies and procedures directed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) through the USSS Chief Information Officer as they apply to development, acquisition and operations of IT programs and projects being acquired for the USSS to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of IT systems.
Developing, implementing, and providing technical oversight of the cost, scheduling, and performance baselines for various acquisition and procurement initiatives for OCIO.
Performing contract management functions such as monitoring and ensuring compliance on OCIO assigned contracts.
Conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis to provides technical advice to senior leaders.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $99,200.00) if you possess one f ull year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
Reviewing program data and requirements for the development of short and/or long-range management plans;
Assisting in IT related acquisition process to advise on contracting policies and procedures consistent with acquisition regulations; and
Using analytical techniques or methods for the assessment and improvement of programs, processes, and systems.

Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted).
