You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (SYSANALYSIS) of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.
A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.90% will be added to the stated salary.
Duties
You will serve as the Tactical Data Link (TDL) Specialist in support of the U.S Indo-Pacific Command Cyber Strategy, Plans, Policy, and Partner Engagement Division.
You will provide TDL technical support, training, and advice to foreign militaries in support of exercise planning and execution to include
assisting and coordinating with U.S. exercise planners to facilitate combined communications interoperability.
You will identify, validate TDL requirements and configuration management to attain interoperability between U.S. and foreign
communications systems.
You will prepare briefings, write information papers, conducts research, perform analysis, and take other appropriate actions to support USINDOPACOM combined communications interoperability programs and engagement activities.
Requirements

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications
GS-13: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing an expert knowledge of a wide range of communications, networks, computers, and communications systems management principles, concepts, and techniques to accomplish integrated telecommunications support planning, development, programming, and implementation. I have experience providing technical advice on Tactical Data Link (TDL) systems and maintaining TDL knowledge and expertise to stay updated on current and future TDL systems and their applications to combined operations. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Providing program/project management to achieve TDL interoperability goals, objectives, and requirements; 2) Identifying TDL requirements and configuration management to attain interoperability between U.S. and foreign communications systems; and 3) Preparing briefings, writing information papers, and conducting research to support USINDOPACOM (United States Indo-Pacific Command) combined communications interoperability programs and engagement activities.
GS-12: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing a detailed knowledge of a wide range of communications, networks, computers, and communications systems management principles, concepts, and techniques to accomplish integrated telecommunications support planning, development, programming, and implementation. I have experience conducting research and analysis on Tactical Data Link (TDL) systems and maintaining TDL knowledge to stay updated on current and future TDL systems and their applications to combined operations. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Assisting senior employees in providing program/project management to achieve TDL interoperability goals, objectives, and requirements; 2) Identifying TDL requirements and configuration management to attain interoperability between U.S. and foreign communications systems; and 3) Writing information papers, and conducting research to support USINDOPACOM (United States Indo-Pacific Command) combined communications interoperability programs and engagement activities.
