This position is located in the Washington Headquarters Services, Facilities Services Directorate, Facilities Operations and Services Division (FOSD), Facility Operations Group (FOG). The Building Operations Command Center (BOCC) is a centralized facilities information management operation, which houses building control systems, computerized HVAC system, computerized lighting systems, computerized building fire alarm systems and the computerized elevator and escalators control system.

This position is being filled under Direct Hire Authority (DHA) in accordance with Section 1109 of FY 2020 NDAA; P.L. 116-92 and Section 9905 of Title 5, U.S.C.
Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following:
Serve as the WHS Facility Manager for the Pentagon Building Operations Command Center (BOCC) and Mark Center Operations (BOC) responsible for overall management of the facility, it's supporting building systems and space usage.
Supervise the Work Reception (Trouble calls at the BOCC) for the FOG and Mark Center
Serve as the primary WHS representative and operative in planning, training and executing integrated emergency operations and management, with PFPA, in accordance with National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Pentagon unique emergency operating procedures.
Plan, develop and conduct internal reviews and studies on building services and operations and maintenance practices.

- Total salary varies depending on location of position
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary/trial period
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment

- This position is subject to periods of standing, stooping, walking climbing, squatting and being in cramped and/or uncomfortable positions.
- This position is subject to accessing construction sites and work areas in order assess the difficulty of work, determine the suitability of procedures in use, etc.
- Required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, SF450, Public Financial Disclosure Report/Employment and Financial Interest upon entering the position and annually.
- May be subject to call back during an emergency and work overtime.

You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 12 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to: provide technical oversight in developing training for BOCC staff, manage the operation of the computerized maintenance management systems (MAXIMO) and oversee the government operation and maintenance computerized systems functions relative to building systems housed BOCC..

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
