The purpose of the Program Support Assistant (PSA) located in the Healthcare System Robley Rex VA Medical Remote Patient Monitoring-Home Telehealth (RPM-HT) Program is to perform a variety of program support functions.
Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Incumbent will serve as back-up for time and leave for Telehealth Services and may assist and back up for other timekeepers across the facility
Use database or spreadsheet software to create, enter, revise, sort or calculate, and retrieve data for reports
Serves as the point of contact for Veterans medical center staff, community agencies, and various others
Communicating with patients within the program, collaborating with clinical staff and vendors
Maintains a filing and tracking system; initiates new patient file folder
Complies statistical reports and cost accounting data
Handling and collecting data for patients enrolled in the RPM-HT Program
Runs Inventory reports at facility and national levels
Incumbent gathers, prepares, and interprets for various admissions, discharges, and patient census reports data for the RPM-HT staff
Assist with receiving and processing documents and reports in accordance with established procedures
Compute data entry, receive department calls, track and monitor supplies
The incumbent will standardize, organize, maintain patient data, and retrieve a variety of computerized data
Coordinating meetings and other assigned duties
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/01/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
Typing Proficiency Requirements: The Program Support Assistant (OA) Occupational Series 0303 includes a Typing Proficiency Requirement. To qualify for the position applicants must be able to type 40 words per minute typing speed
Grade Requirement: In addition to meeting the Typing Proficiency requirements, applicants will also need to meet the grade level requirement. You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: knowledge of researching information, planning, organizing, clerical/administration work, preparing documents for review and approval; maintaining records, and inputting data into automated systems; computing data entry, develops and maintains reports using spreadsheet software packages, timekeeping, accurately collects, enter and manage data, including both patient and program data.
Preferred Experience: Previous experience in Home Telehealth or Remote Patient Monitoring. Previous experience in an administrative/technical role. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Products, Data Reporting, and Digital Technology Products.

Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary in nature. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there is walking, standing. bending and carrying of light to medium weight items such as equipment/devices, papers books, etc. often up and down flights of stairs across the VA campus.
