Duties
You will serve as a Security Specialist (Port). The primary responsibilities of this position is to prepare and validate plans for the effective and efficient response to all port safety and security contingencies for which the Coast Guard and community will respond. The incumbent is an action officer responsible for Port Safety and Security Planning. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:

Qualifications
At the GS-12: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level (in the Federal sector). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and ability to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line work. Examples of specialized experience include: coordinating and assisting in preparation and implementation of plans, protocols, and procedures to deter Transportation Security Incidents (TSis) and mitigate the effect of those that occur; maintaining the functionality of the Marine Transportation System and theflow of maritime commerce, assessment, documentation, and reporting of risk, port and waterway navigation system components, maritime CIKR (Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources), cargo flow and priorities, maritime security capability and availability, security and functional implications to maritime commerce and maritime CIKR, incident planning and management needs, and related issues. provide solutions to security problems and develop alternatives and options to meet requirements of physical and environmental circumstances.
