This announcement is for Maintenance Worker to clear ICTAP/CTAP priority lists. It is only open to current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the ICTAP/CTAP.

Duties

The monuments are located in the Verde Valley in central Arizona about 90 miles north of Phoenix and 50 miles south of Flagstaff. Tuzigoot is off Highway 89A by the towns of Clarkdale and Cottonwood along the northern reaches of the Verde River. Montezuma Castle and Montezuma Well are off Interstate 17 near the towns of Camp Verde and Rimrock. Temperatures range from 20-60 degrees in winter and 60-105 degrees in summer (June to mid-September). Employees are required to report for duty at any of these sites. The selected candidate will be a valuable member of the Facilities Management Division and should expect to fulfill the following duties: Performing work involved in the maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings and related fixtures and utilities, requiring the use of a variety of trade practices associated with occupations such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, cement work, painting and other related trades. Conducts basic carpentry repairs such as repairing or replacing screens, window and door frames, molding and trim, and repair and replacement of drywall or similar products. Performing electrical tasks such as replacing light switches and household light fixtures, changing light bulbs, and assisting electrician when pulling wire in conduit and installing electric boxes. Performs plumbing tasks to various buildings and structures. Makes repairs by removing, cleaning, replacing, and sealing defective parts of utility, supply and disposal systems. Performs concrete and plaster touch up around existing historic structures. Operate light trucks and forklifts to pick up supplies and to transport materials to and from work sites while assisting on project work. Collect trash, clean and services restrooms and other visitor facilities. Makes minor repairs as needed and reports problems to supervisor. Computer work required for reporting and project tracking, such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and internet research. Proficiency in document creation and editing, as well as operating a computer efficiently. Ensures safety rules are followed. Must have a valid State Driver's License.

Education

There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.

Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection. Well qualified means that the applicant meets the following: OPM qualification standards for the position; all selective placement factors, where applicable; special qualifying conditions that OPM has approved for the position, where applicable; is physically qualified with reasonable accommodation, where appropriate to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position upon entry; and is rated by the organization at least at the well qualified level on all competencies. Federal employees seeking CTAP/ICTAP eligibility must submit proof that they meet the requirements of 5 CFR 330.605(2) for CTAP and 5 CFR 330.704 for ICTAP. This includes a copy of the agency notice, a copy of their most recent Performance Rating, and a copy of their most recent SF-50 noting current position, grade level, and duty location.
