Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will be placed in a pay status and can expect to work a maximum of 25 out of 26 pay periods per year. This can be variable due to project requirements or weather conditions.

Duties
The monuments are located in the Verde Valley in central Arizona about 90 miles north of Phoenix and 50 miles south of Flagstaff. Tuzigoot is off Highway 89A by the towns of Clarkdale and Cottonwood along the northern reaches of the Verde River. Montezuma Castle and Montezuma Well are off Interstate 17 near the towns of Camp Verde and Rimrock. Temperatures range from 20-60 degrees in winter and 60-105 degrees in summer (June to mid-September). Employees are required to report for duty at any of these sites.
The selected candidate will be a valuable member of the Facilities Management Division and should expect to fulfill the following duties:
Perform simple and routine maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, equipment, and related utilities.
Assist higher graded maintenance workers or tradesmen in the performance of their work.
Perform minor carpentry repairs using simple measures and hand tools on such tasks as replacing broken planks on picnic tables; broken windows using precut stock; minor adjustments or replaces hinges, latches, and catches.
Perform minor painting using brush and roller according to specific instructions on projects where appearances are not critical such as staining picnic tables.
Perform minor plumbing repairs such as tightening or replacing in-kind fittings and fixtures which do not require custom fitting or solder joints; replaces faucet washers; unplugs drains using a plunger.
Receive, unload and process incoming shipments according to established procedures.
Report discrepancies and damage to others that are responsible for such items.
Perform routine maintenance on trails using hand tools to re-grade and reset barriers to restore areas to original appearances.
Collect trash, clean and services restrooms and other visitor facilities. Makes minor repairs as needed and refers problems to higher graded workers.
Operate a light truck to pick up supplies and to transport materials to and from work sites while assisting on project work.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:

Education
There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.
