This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Protective Service, Washington, District of Columbia.
Duties
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Branch Chief in the Administrative Services Division and supervise a staff of analysts ensuring guidance and instruction that vehicle fleet for law enforcement personnel is adequately operational and all reporting requirements for Head Quarters are met.
Duties performed:
Oversees fleet operations to ensure legal and regulatory requirements and customer needs are met.
Develops policies and procedures to improve the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of fleet operations.
Provides guidance and directs subordinates on Fleet Operations and Property Accountability issues.
Promotes an environment in which employees contribute to the success of the mission's goals.
Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
GS-14: Applicant must demonstrate one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-13 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
Analyzing policies and procedures to improve quality, timeliness, and efficiency of programs; and
Creating short-term and long-term plans to accomplish organizational goals; and
Providing advice and guidance to staff members to ensure policies, procedures, and management directives are met.

Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted).
