This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves in the HQDA G-3/5/7 Strategic Operations (DAMO-SO) Directorate, Mission Command Support Element (SOM) Division as an Operations Research Analyst, responsible to the DAMO-SO Director and Division Chief, SOM.

Duties

Present briefings to senior officials. Manage the analysis efforts within the study team. Investigate data trends and anomalies from a vast set of data. Provide recommendations to Army senior leaders and stakeholders to support operational, policy, and financial decisions. Consult with mission area leadership/subject matter experts to collect, collate, analyze program operations data. Develop and execute the strategy for gathering and analyzing data to drive meaningful results for the mission. Conduct definitions of problems and questions to ensure requests for analytical support are clear and pertinent. Develop methodology to address defined issues.

Requirements

• Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance.
• This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. (see below for additional information)
• Travel Required: Up to 25% Business Travel may be required.
• One year trial/probationary period may be required.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement for Operations Research Analyst: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year equivalent to next lower grade level developing operational research techniques to analyze force structures; conducting decision-making analysis for a broad program operation; and performing operational studies on force structure, doctrine, materiel, or training.
