This is a journeyman level Electrician position in the St. Cloud VA Health Care System Facilities and Management Services - Maintenance and Operations Unit. This position specializes in regular and recurring operation and preventative maintenance of primary and secondary power distribution systems and all equipment on the Health Care System campus which is electrically powered.

Duties

Performs installation, maintenance, and repair work on all primary and secondary electrical distribution systems and equipment. Provides scheduled preventive maintenance inspections on a recurring basis of equipment located throughout the station. Inspects all receptacles, breakers, equipment cords, cord caps, and switches throughout the station on a yearly inspection. Performs infrared scanning of electrical equipment on annual rotation. Reports findings of equipment requiring additional repairs or major overhaul to work lead and/or supervisor. Work Schedule: Full Time; 8:00am to 4:30pm; Monday - Friday Position Description Title/PD#: Electrician/PD90160A Physical Requirements: Occasionally may lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and includes physical exertion related to actions such as lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying objects of varying weights, sizes and shapes; and physical effort related to movements such as walking, running, climbing, crawling, and bending. Work is performed from ladders, scaffolding and platforms.
