About the Position: Serve as the Enterprise Operations Directorate Chief, G-6, with the full authority, responsibility, and duties of planning, managing, and directing directorate activities. In consultation with the Deputy Director, Deputy CIO and CIO (a tier two SES), technically direct subordinates involved in planning, controlling, and supporting command enterprise IT operations during times of war, crisis, and peace.

Duties

Establish command priorities, operations processes, and related procedures for the acquisition/use of information technology services; communications support and exercise signal support planning and execution; training and readiness management. Manage, coordinate, and direct assigned information systems, networks, and facilities with command staff personnel, senior staffs of supported commands. Lead the organization in identifying C4IM service requirements and negotiates service level agreements for unique USACE C4IM service requirements. Identify technology opportunities that will have a significant effect on the region's ability to support the customer base and perform its mission, maintaining a set of information and technology priorities, initiatives, and activities Exercise second level supervision of the civilian staff and oversight over contractors, who together consist of professional IM/IT technicians and engineers (90 GS employees and approximately 500 contractors). Plan and assign work to be accomplished, sets priorities and deadlines; reviews or rejects them. Exercise responsibility for execution of enterprise services and standards and ensures USACE responsiveness to IM/IT requirements throughout CONUS.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance based on an SSBI background investigation for access to Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI). A TS/SCI clearance is required.
  • Required to sign a DA Form 5019-R, (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as Critical Under the Drug Abuse Testing Program) and must pass urinalysis testing, as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Position is designated as non-emergency essential.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08).
  • Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 23 March 2006.
