About the Position: This position is located within the Naval Branch Health Clinic, NAVSTA Norfolk, VA. The incumbent serves as an Occupational Health Technician providing patient care to adult workers.

Duties
Process physical examinations ensuring that employees meet requirements for specific job titles.
Discuss and educate patients/employees management, and others in occupational health matters.
Schedule patients/employees for occupationally related health care, records accompanying health care data in patients' medical records.
Conduct individual counseling and teaching regarding patients' conditions.
Interview patients to obtain history prior to being seen by physician.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.
- Employees assigned to or subject to being assigned to duties providing direct patient care, either diagnostic or therapeutic must possess and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain an approved certification in Audiometry.
- Incumbent must be able to successfully complete a NIOSH approved course in Spirometry and receive a certificate of completion. Refresher training is required every 5 years.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting health screenings, updating patient medical records, and providing administrative support. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06)
