You will serve as a Planner & Estimator (Aircraft Mechanic) in the Centralized Coordination Department of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

You will resolve problems which includes analysis of aircraft and aeronautical equipment against established planning requirements. You will recommend sources of supply, availability of supplies, and acceptable solutions when supplies are unavailable. You will determine planning requirements for accomplishment of repairs, modifications, and rework of aircraft. You will estimate costs and prepare job order specifications assigning work to shops or trade groups. You will interpret data concerning facilitation or control of production and make recommendations for aircraft after material condition examinations and for incorporation into technical directives during aircraft rework.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: 1) Resolving problems which includes analysis of aircraft or aeronautical equipment against established planning requirements; 2) Recommending sources of supply, availability of supplies and acceptable substitutions when supplies are unavailable; 3) Determining planning requirements for accomplishment of repairs, modifications and rework of aircraft; 4) Estimating costs and preparing job order specifications assigning work to shops or trade groups with nature of work and manpower requirements; and 5) Gathering and interpreting data concerning facilitation or control of production and make recommendations for aircraft after material condition examination and for incorporation into technical directives during aircraft rework.
