Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As an IT Specialist (ENTARCH), you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Resolves hardware/software interface and interoperability problems; ensures systems' availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency. Identifies and recommends software and/or software modifications that can facilitate exchange of information between IT operations. Assists with the technical architectural design and integrity, research of new technologies, enterprise IT activities and systems management, and performance management of systems, and applications. Coordinates major IT projects that include acquisitions, systems testing and development, systems migration, disaster recovery, security, website development and management, data storage and retrieval, records management, etc.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. There are two ways to qualify for this position: EDUCATION: For the GS-09: You must possess amaster's degree or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree OR Have a combination of specialized experience as described above and graduate level education as described above. For the GS-11: You must possess aPh.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR Have a combination of specialized experience as described above and graduate level education as described above. For the GS-12: Education cannot be substituted for Specialized experience. OR EXPERIENCE: Basic Requirement: For all grade levels, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND Specialized Experience: For the GS-09: Have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Assisting senior level IT analysts with conducting routine studies and tests to evaluate the system, hardware, and software. Reviewing IT policy, standards and guidelines relating to systems, hardware, and software in order to apply current agency standards to all phases of system development life cycle. For the GS-11: Have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Providing technical analysis, advice, guidance, and recommendations to senior IT subject-matter experts. Performing phases of projects, from advising on specification requirements and limitations to helping project managers define the problem or need. For the GS-12: Have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Developing, monitoring, planning and recommending solutions for the management and execution of project plans related t to agency hardware, software, and application systems. (I.E. cloud technologies, to include Microsoft Exchange online, M365 and Azure etc.) Coordinating project work across multiple internal and external teams, including external vendors; Conducting analysis and evaluation of data to determine or support decisions around, when to adopt new technologies.
