About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. Duties
Review technical errors to prevent malfunctions in the electronic subsystem.
Enforce procedures, processes, and time constraints outlined for projects.
Provide technical assistance when needed on electronic integrated systems for maintenance or repair process.
Perform final repairs and corrections on defects on devices mounted to turrets (i.e. electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment).
Plan, schedule, and direct work assignments for employees on a day-to-day basis while adhering to time constraints and solving problems as they may occur.
Troubleshoot applications such as hydraulics, master units, control panels, power generators, and/or missile launchers to ensure equipment is fully functional and operational.
Coordinate with personnel on matters affecting operating specifications and changes of equipment such as validating technical data, testing programs, reporting discrepancies, and recommending solutions.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- May be required to travel (TDY) 10% of the time for business purposes.
- Must obtain and maintain a Personnel Background Investigation (NACI).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
- Must successfully complete the Civilian Education System Course and the Supervisory Development Course within 12 months of being assigned to the position. Failure to do so may result in an adverse action.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- Temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years and can be made permanent without further competition.
- Temporary appointment may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of three years but cannot be made permanent.
- Time Limited Detail NTE may be made or extended at management discretion.

Minimum Qualifications: Ability to do the work of an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic Supervisor without more than normal supervision. (Ability to Supervise) The ability to perform common Electronic Integrated System Mechanic Supervisor duties which includes performing overhauls, spot checks, and maintaining complex electronic integrated systems. Skilled in repairing, rebuilding, modifying, troubleshooting, adjusting, installing, testing, inspecting, fabricating, designing, and maintaining complex electronic integrated systems. Work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
