About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. Duties

Lead others to complete tasks. Spot check the work of others. Assist others in completing tasks and repairs. Determine feasibility and cost-effectiveness of needed repairs. Train others on proper procedures and proper use of equipment. Assist lower graded employee's in the use of electronic equipment for testing in a safe manner. Devise new modified test procedures to determine the necessary modification needed to accomplish tasks.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Obtain and maintain a Personnel Background Investigation (NACI).
• May be required to travel (TDY) 25% of the time for business purposes. (CONUS/OCONUS)
• Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment/pre-deployment(CONUS/OCONUS) physicals and maintain annual requirements thereafter.
• This position has a requirement to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties. Occasionally lifts heavier items with assistance.
• Temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years and can be made permanent without further competition.
• Temporary appointment may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of three years but cannot be made permanent.
• Time Limited Detail NTE may be made or extended at management discretion.
