THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a ITSPEC (CUSTSPT) - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD2182P01 and is part of the KY 123 AW, National Guard.
Duties
As a ITSPEC (CUSTSPT) - TITLE 32, GS-2210-11, you will perform a variety of network device configuration and connectivity tasks. Execute procedures and coordinate corrective action to optimize network performance. Install, configure and monitor software packages that provide performance measurements of the WAN/LAN. Implement standard configuration software loads for network devices. Work with technical support personnel in resolving critical problems. Use remote management software tools to maintain and update configuration, protocol and files. Ensure backup processes are completed. Evaluate performance of network devices. Coordinate development and implementation of configuration management plans for complex LANs and WANs with supported elements. Implement plans and procedure for installation of applications and upgrades. Monitor distribution of applications and upgrades ensuring compliance with regulations and copyright laws. Implement procedures to ensure accurate records of authorized users of distributed software are maintained. Implement standard operating procedures for devices on the network. Review and evaluate proposed software. Provide input to briefings and presentations on the complexities of the installation networks. Analyze equipment and software reliability and utilization reports to identify and define problem areas and to establish end-to-end systems performance levels. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
Experience that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least 36 months experience that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Ph.D. or equivalent

3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
All undergraduate or graduate education must be in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
To receive credit for education, you must provide OFFICIAL transcripts.
