About the Position: This position is located at the Logistics Readiness Center, U.S. Military Academy, West Point. Located in the scenic Hudson River valley. The U.S. Military Academy at West Point is a four-year academic institution, a nationally renowned historic site, and the oldest continuously occupied military post in America.

Duties

Implement procedures and controls to minimize probability of the occurrence of Anti-deficiency Act violations. Develop and coordinate the planning, formulation, and execution of the budget. Formulate the operating program budget and manage and monitor fund distribution for the operation of the Brigade. Provide advice and guidance to management officials on all budgetary matters.

Requirements

  • This Financial Management Level 2 certification requirement is a condition of employment for this position. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
  • THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 2 Certified position. Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of Occasional Travel.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-09). OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business, or another related field. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR The specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have at least two years of graduate education as described in B, but less than the required three years. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
