About the Position: Conducts aptitude and qualification examinations at the MEPS and Military Entrance Test (MET) sites, remote school site, for the applicants of the various Armed Services. Tests include the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). Briefs applicants, distributes examinations, scores exams, performs quality control of examination and applicable applicant information, sends results to appropriate personnel, and performs data entry of results.

Duties

Cross-trains in other functions of the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) (such as processing) and performs these functions as required. Handles accountable test material. Brief applicants, distributes and proctors examinations and scores exams. Prepares test sessions at remote sites, to include schools with large populations. Performs quality control of examination and applicable applicant information, sends results to appropriate personnel, and performs data entry of results and information into the appropriate accession reporting system. Tests include the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB), Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) - ASVAB, and computer and paper and pencil special purpose tests. Assist in conducting test material inventories as required and ensures strict accountability and security of all testing materials. Operate a variety of office automation equipment including personal computers, mobile computing devises, facsimile machines, scanners, digital copiers, and industrial shredders.

Requirements

  • Must possess or have ability to obtain a driver's license.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work is required.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: administering aptitude and qualification examinations, scoring exams, performing quality control of exams and applicable applicant information; using data management automated software and equipment, such as or similar to the Military Entrance Processing Command Integrated Resource System (MIRS). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer SkillsEducational and Vocational TestingSpeaking Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).
