You will serve as a Security Specialist (GSSO) in the Fleet Readiness Center South East of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.
Duties
You will administer Personnel Security clearances for in-processing personnel to support mission readiness.
You will develop Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection and emergency management directives to implement established policies.
You will write command policies and procedures to comply with headquarters guidelines regarding Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP) regulations.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Assisting in planning, conducting, evaluating, analyzing, and reporting database management, personnel security, industrial security, physical security, oversight, and training to create and maintain a secure environment.
Preparing detailed reports that include security plans and statistical data to make recommendations for security policies and procedures that affect security operations.
Implementing and administering Special Access Programs (SAP) personnel security to establish procedures for processing request for SAP access for military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
Protecting classified information implementing required security programs such as; document control, program personnel, and information security, investigations, security education, training, and awareness, operations security (OPSEC), communications security (COMSEC), Telecommunications security (TEMPEST), and Emission security (EMSEC).
Utilizing security databases, rosters, and other tools necessary to administer to the personnel security program. As well as proactively initiate tracer actions to facilitate access eligibility.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL. B or J.D., if related
