This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Asst Secretary for Housing-Federal Housing Commissioner. The College Graduates Program affords developmental experiences in the Federal Government intended to promote careers in the civil service to individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. College graduates are appointed to career or career-conditional permanent positions in the competitive service.

Qualifications

You must meet eligibility and qualification requirements no later than 9 months from the date of application. However, the education and qualifications must be completed successfully before an applicant may be appointed. For the GS-07, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes assisting in conducting research and compiling data from multiple sources. Examples of this experience could include: - Collecting and researching data for special projects and initiatives; OR - Assisting in the coordination of reports to make sure they meet timely distribution. OR Education: One full year of graduate level education (attach a copy of your transcript or list of college courses designating semester or quarter hours earned to ensure proper credit) or Superior Academic Achievement based on a bachelor's degree that is demonstrated through class standing (upper 1/3 of class); grade point average (2.95/4.0 overall or 3.5/4.0 in major) or election to membership in a qualifying national scholastic honor society. OR Combination: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Education
