Duties

Serves as a DLA Enterprise Service Delivery Indo-Pacific (ESD Indo-Pac) IT Specialist (System Administration/Customer Support) at the assigned duty station. Advises ESD Indo-Pac management and customers on new developments and advanced techniques, with a perspective on the integration of IT infrastructure components into the business operations and established IT architectures. Responsible for providing on-site and remote system administration, customer onboarding/offboarding, M365 support (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive), Apple iOS, contd Multi-function devices (MFD), SIPRNet, NIPRNet, file server, print server, local area networks (LAN), vulnerability management, mobile device support, voice services (VOIP) and other technologies DLA requires. Serves as project manager for enterprise wireless devices to include iPhones, Cell Phones, Mifi devices and DISA DMCC secure devices. Provides information technology guidance related to systems problems, new/emerging technologies, IT and administrative policy requirements, technical and administrative processes, etc. to IT Specialists and end users worldwide. Performs end-of-life IT hardware turn-in through approved practices with records management in mind. Tracks daily workload and projects through ticketing system Service Now (SNOW).

Qualifications

To qualify for an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/CUSTSPT) your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: - Leads and/or participates in projects and studies to improve systems-based customer support and to test and/or enhance systems/subsystems interrelationships, performance, and capabilities. - Participates in establishing new data management methods; designs, documents, and tests new/revised operating procedures, and interacts with systems developers and end users to communicate, interpret, and facilitate the implementation of IT management requirements involving/affecting operations. - Researches, tests, and evaluates new or existing products, application programs, and IT systems; presents sound technical proposals and recommendations to increase IT operational effectiveness and related customer support; and prepares and promotes plans and procedures for acquiring, maintaining, and supporting IT hardware/software. - Performs comprehensive cost-benefit analysis of items considered (i.e., quality, reliability, capability and cost of hardware/ software/ related enhancements vs. constantly evolving technology) and documents findings and recommendations for consideration by operating officials. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed: 1. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
