This position is located in the Division of Administration, Headquarters of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of space planning, analysis of requirements, office relocation, and/or renovation and office layout, design, and interior design.

Duties
Analyzes space needs for the offices in the Washington Area as well as in the Regions and various sites Nationwide.
At existing locations analyzes office functions, building layouts workflow patterns, and organization charts; ascertains individual office space requirements; and plans the layout involving interior design, appropriate workstation components of furniture and equipment cabling.
Follows through by recommending acquisition of new or leased space and by planning the design and layout of space to maximize effective utilization.
Participates in the procurement of FF&E for the Corporation, projecting future needs, preparing budgets and procurements, and managing FF&E inventories for use in projects.
Maintains close liaison with private contractors to coordinate operations, established work priorities and amends original requests.
Maintains constant liaison with administrative, managerial, and executive personnel within the Corporation to ensure continuing thorough and mutual understanding of their respective functions to evaluate their needs for space, alterations, and environmental requirements.
Reviews drawings prepared by outside Architects-Engineers for completeness and approves payment.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-11 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience coordinating, managing, and evaluating organizations for workspace planning, office relocation and renovation, liaising with contractors, vendors, or landlords to resolve issues related to space planning, and providing contract oversight.
