The Head of Digital Content will strategize, create, and evaluate exciting and innovative digital, video and social media content that helps the National Gallery reflect and attract the United States, and become the nation’s primary resource for art and creativity. The Head of Content will lead a team of creative and data-informed content, video, and audio and social producers, who focus on creating, adapting, and promoting content across our digital platforms and products.

Qualifications
Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the NF-1084-15. For this position, candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the NF-14 level in the Federal service, planning, creating, and evaluating public-facing digital content for a major organization or institution that helps grow, engage and retain target audiences, both onsite and online.

Mastery knowledge of and demonstrated experience in digital project management and digital content creation for media organizations, for nonprofits, within the visual arts, museums, or cultural organizations.
Mastery knowledge of and demonstrated experience creating video and audio content strategy and execution for media organizations, for nonprofits, within the visual arts, museums, or cultural organizations.
Mastery knowledge of and demonstrated experience in website content development, content management systems (e.g. Drupal), some knowledge of HTML/CSS.
Mastery knowledge and demonstrated experience managing social media projects, including strategy, content and partnerships for media organizations, for nonprofits, within the visual arts, museums, or cultural organizations.
Extensive writing and communication experience, including leading and participation on cross-functional teams dedicated to improving user experiences through writing, information architecture and content design.
Leadership skills and experience, with an ability to recruit, inspire and develop a team of specialists

Education
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. Some positions may also require subject-matter knowledge of medicine, science, or technical equipment.
Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis.
